We’ve had many types of vacuums over the years, from canister types, to stick vacuums, and several robot vacuums. The robots are a great help when you work from home, because they can clean the floors, while you get some office work done!
Kenmore Elegance Canister Vacuum
This canister vacuum is the “serious” cleaning machine in the house. I drag it out every couple of weeks, to finish the work that the light-weight vacuums can’t do.
It has lots more suction power than the robots or our stick vacuum. Also, its attachments can reach into every crevice and corner, that the others miss.
It has two filters – the motor filter, inside the bag compartment, and the exhaust filter, at the back of the vacuum
The inside filter is easy to change, but it’s a real struggle to open the back filter door! Finally, I tried a couple of things, and these secret tricks make it much easier to get that door open.

EUREKA RapidClean Pro – Get Brush Out
I use this stick vacuum for quick cleanups, and the brush was getting clogged.
It was easy enough to find the release tab on for the brush roller, but it didn’t seem to do anything!
I couldn’t find videos or detailed instructions for how it worked, but finally figured it out.

How to Clean Roomba Front Wheel Well
If you clear the dust out of the iRobot Roomba front wheel well, the vacuum will work better. My Roomba was packed with dust, and the wheel wouldn’t turn all the way around. I’d never cleaned it out before, but it was easy to pop out the wheel, and remove the dust.
Do this carefully though, and at your own risk! You could check with the manufacturer before you attempt this, if you are concerned about how to clean the front wheel well on your Roomba model.
