I\u2019ve had backup power for several years, and it has saved me from losing work a few times.<\/p>\n<p>The power went out first thing this morning, and my newest UPS kicked in right away. It\u2019s an APC XS-1500 and has been running fine for a couple of years, since an older UPS died. Amazon says that model is discontinued now, but there are <a title=\"APC UPS\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003Y24DEU\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B003Y24DEU&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=debrad-20&amp;linkId=QSV7RMQ4CVFYB3SG\" rel=\"nofollow\">similar models available<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I like the display that shows how many minutes of power are left, and it gives about 4 hours of power. That should be enough time to get the important tasks done, before it runs out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"IMG_0152\" src=\"http:\/\/debradalgleish.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/IMG_0152.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0152\" width=\"482\" height=\"482\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wireless router is plugged into it, so I was able to use my laptop, iPad and iPhone, and connect to the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the power was restored in about an hour, so I didn\u2019t have to test the full battery life of the UPS.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/debradalgleish.com\/blog\/2021\/02\/15\/after-work-from-home\/\">working from home<\/a>, and have important tasks to do, a UPS is a good investment. It will let you keep working, for a while anyway, and gives you enough time to save your files and shut down, so you don\u2019t lose any work.<\/p>\n<p>________________<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you have a backup power supply in your office?
