On Twitter today, someone mentioned www.genderanalyzer.com<\/a>, and reported that it guessed her blog was likely written by a man (59%).<\/p>\n

So, I decided to test my website and blogs, to see how they\u2019d be assessed. Here\u2019s the description of how the analyzer works:<\/p>\n

It uses Artificial Intelligence to determine if a homepage is written by a man or woman. Behind the scene, a text classifier hosted over at uClassify.com<\/a> has been trained on 11000 blogs written by men and women.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I figured that the Excel sites would lean to the male side, because of the technical material. Probably more men than women are blogging about computer stuff.<\/p>\n

And I was right \u2013 here are the scores:<\/p>\n

  1. We think http:\/\/blog.contextures.com<\/a> is written by a man<\/strong> (82%).<\/li>\n
  2. We think http:\/\/www.contextures.com<\/a> is written by a man<\/strong> (84%).<\/li>\n
  3. We think http:\/\/www.pivot-table.com<\/a> is written by a man<\/strong> (84%).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It\u2019s interesting that my Contextures website is slightly more manly than my Contextures blog. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

    This blog though, is gender neutral, despite having a female name.<\/p>\n
