In my Excel newsletter last week, I posted the picture below. These are 8 gadgets that I found in the drawers and shelves and other dark corners of my office, while decluttering it.

Do you recognize any or all of them? Some might be easy, but I had to do an online search for office gadget number 5, because I couldn’t remember what it was! And even with Google’s help, it was hard to find.

Excel Errors With Access Database

Recently, I’ve heard from a couple of people who were getting strange errors in Excel, when they tried to get data from an Access database. In both cases, things had been going smoothly for a long time, then suddenly stopped working. What was going wrong?

These Excel errors were different from the Read Only database problem that I wrote about before.

Monthly Website Backups-Stay Safe

Do you do regular website backups? Today I’m making some structural changes to one of my blogs, which is hosted on Hostgator. The instruction page on Hostgator warns (ominously) that you should make a full site backup before beginning. That sounded like good advice, so I decided to follow it!
